Meet-up for new students in Victoria!

Malaysian Students Department of Australia is planning to organize a get-together with the new students who just arrived in Victoria. In collaboration with MASCA Victoria, this program will be a channel to obtain the feedback on the life of a new student in Victoria, Australia. Besides that, it is an opportunity for students to voice out any opinions they have. The details for the meeting are given below:

Venue : Melbourne Malaysian Hall (K4, High St, Windsor 3181, Vic)
Date : 28th March 2009 ( Saturday)
Time : 2.00pm-4.00pm

There will be a written quiz about Malaysian Students Department of Australia and MASCA (Malaysian Students Council of Australia) Victoria during the event. FEW IPOD’s TO BE WON!!! High tea is provided after the event.Please contact us at info@mascavictoria.com for more information, and we look forward to see you this Saturday (28th March 2009).

How to get there: Take any trams from Flinders Station towards St. Kilda (except tram no 1, 72 & 8) and stop at stop number 27. Turn left into High St, walk around 50m and you’ll see Malaysian Hall (blue building) on your right!

*Note that table bookings for $560 are available till the 28th of September. It’s only limited to the first 20 tables (first come first serve)

Once the first 20 tables are sold out, table bookings for $560 are no longer available. All the tickets will be sold at $55 per ticket. However, we can still arrange for you to sit in one table with your friends, as requested.

Reminder to Register with the MSDA

That’s right, if you are a Malaysian student studying abroad (like, in La Trobe, Bundoora, for example) and have not registered with the Malaysian Students Department of Australia, then do so now because it’s a really simple process you can do online and it’s for your own safety.

New Layout

What do you guys think of the new blog layout? WordPress just released it and it looked so pretty, and had an almost-Malaysian colour scheme to it that I couldn’t resist. I’ll be putting the header in the About Page. Talk about the new layout or whatever in the comments section!

Zakat Fitrah Collection in Bundoora

Bagi masyarakat Malaysia di mana kebanyakan warganya adalah golongan pelajar, Badan EHSAN memutuskan untuk memecahkan harga Zakat Fitrah pada tahun ini kepada dua pilihan, iaitu: (1) AUD 7.00 atau (2) AUD 10.00 – bagi setiap seorang. Dalam ertikata lain, saudara dan saudari boleh memilih jumlah pembayaran antara dua harga yang dinyatakan bagi menyempurnakan ibadah berzakat pada tahun ini. Untuk tujuan mempermudahkan urusan pembayaran, beberapa AMIL ZAKAT telah dilantik oleh Badan EHSAN berdasarkan kawasan-kawasan berikut:
